1. Acceptance of Terms

By inviting Trap to your Discord server or using any of its features, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must remove the bot from your server immediately.

These Terms apply to all users, including server administrators, moderators, and regular members who interact with Trap.

2. Description of Service

Trap is a Discord bot designed to protect servers from spam bots by monitoring a designated "trap" channel. Any account that sends a message in this channel is automatically identified as a bot and actioned accordingly (kick, ban, or softban).

Features include:

• Automatic bot detection via trap channel
• Global blacklist shared across all servers using Trap
• Configurable action types (kick, ban, softban)
• Moderation logs and statistics
• Slash commands for configuration and management

3. User Obligations

By using Trap, you agree to:

• Comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times
• Not use Trap to target, harass, or harm legitimate users
• Not attempt to manipulate or bypass the bot's detection mechanisms
• Not use the bot for any illegal activity in your jurisdiction
• Ensure the trap channel is clearly inaccessible or unappealing to real users
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit Trap's systems

4. Global Blacklist

Trap maintains a global blacklist of accounts identified as bots or spam accounts. By using Trap, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Accounts that trigger the trap on your server may be added to the global blacklist
• Blacklisted accounts may be automatically actioned when they join any server running Trap
• Blacklist data includes Discord user IDs, timestamps, and guild information
• We reserve the right to review and remove entries from the blacklist at our discretion

5. Data Collection

Trap collects and stores the following data to function properly:

• Guild (server) IDs and configuration settings
• User IDs of accounts that trigger the trap channel
• Timestamps and action logs for moderation events
• Channel and role IDs associated with Trap's configuration

We do not collect message content, personal information, or any data beyond what is necessary for the bot to operate. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Trap may experience downtime due to maintenance, Discord outages, or technical issues. We are not liable for any harm caused by service interruptions.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to Trap at any time, with or without notice, for any of the following reasons:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Abuse of the bot or its systems
• Actions that harm other users or servers
• Violation of Discord's Terms of Service

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Trap is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the bot will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will meet your specific requirements. The use of Trap is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the creators of Trap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the bot, including but not limited to loss of data, unauthorized access, or server disruptions.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of Trap after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
